To win souls for Christ, to obtain members into the body, to bring every member to spiritual and financial maturity; to empower them to receive and achieve God’s purpose, plan and perfect will for their lives in order to bring absolute and undeniable glory to God.
1. To win souls for Christ. This is the responsibility of every believer.
The term “soul-winning” simply refers to the practice of leading lost sinners to the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation. God Almighty has entrusted the job of soul-winning to ALL HIS DISCIPLES. If you are a saved, born-again Believer, then you are COMMANDED to be a soul-winner.
Proverbs 11:30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.
Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
Mark 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
2. To obtain members into this church family.
God is concerned about church membership. The church serves as the place where the believer is taught the word, (Biblical doctrine and instruction), participates in and learns how to worship God and provides a place of fellowship with each other.
Acts 2:41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.
Ac 2:42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
Ac 2:43 And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.
Ac 2:44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common;
Ac 2:45 And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.
Ac 2:46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,
Ac 2:47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.
3. To bring every member to spiritual maturity.
Once the believer is saved he is to mature in God. We are committed to providing all the necessary resources that the believer can grow in God.
Ephesians 4:11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
Eph 4:12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
Eph 4:13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
Eph 4:14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
4. To empower every member to receive and achieve God’s purpose, plan, and perfect will for their lives.
Every man has been created with purpose. We are committed to providing all of the necessary training that every member may discover and fulfill their God-given purpose in life.
Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Matthew 4:18 And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.
Mt 4:19 And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.
Mt 4:20 And they straightway left their nets, and followed him.
5. To bring absolute and undeniable glory to God.
Finally, everything that we do is to ultimately bring glory to God!
Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
1Peter 4:11 If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
